Nine dates for IMCA Modifieds and Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMods, and eight dates for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are on the schedule for the 2013 Texas Lone Star Series.
All three divisions are on Friday-Sunday, Feb. 22-24 Ice Breaker cards at Abilene Speedway, Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3 Spring Kick Off programs at Kennedale Speedway Park and the Sunday, April 28 show at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.
The Mother’s Day program on Sunday, May 12 at 85 Speedway features Modifieds and Southern SportMods.
Modifieds, Southern SportMods and Stock Cars run Sunday, June 16 at Mountain Creek Speedway and in the Thursday, July 4 series finale at Texas Thunder Speedway.
NASCAR’s Ken Schrader will race a Modified all three nights at Abilene.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be given at each event. Regional points will also be awarded to Modified and Stock Car competitors.
Modified drivers contend for shares of a $3,000 point fund, which includes a $600 championship share. Stock Car and SportMod point fund information is to be announced.
Bonus points will be awarded to champions in all three divisions; champions of the Modified and Stock Car series also become eligible to compete in their respective race of champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.
Selby Holder, a tech inspector at Heart O’ Texas and at Texas Thunder, returns as series tech inspector and will attend all tour events in 2013.
The 2012 series champions were Keith White in the Modifieds, Shane Priddy in the Stock Cars and Johnny Torres in the Southern SportMods.
