CONCORD, NC – March 8, 2010 – The Midwest Dirt Late Model Series (MDLMS) will carry the sanctioning of DIRTcar Racing in 2010, officials from the two organizations have announced.
Renamed the Midwest DIRTcar Late Model Series, the Wichita, Kans.-based tour will focus on full-fender competition at tracks in the Kansas/Oklahoma area. It will feature several co-sanctioned events with the Colorado Late Model Association DIRTcar Series, which will also run under the DIRTcar banner for the first time this season.
“Bringing the Midwest DIRTcar Late Model Series into the DIRTcar family continues our expansion west of the Mississippi River,” said DIRTcar Racing Western Region director Chris Morgan, who negotiated to set up the MDLMS and CLMA as sister DIRTcar tours. “The Midwest DIRTcar Late Model Series serves as a geographic bridge between our core DIRTcar series and tracks in the heartland to new DIRTcar territory in the Rocky Mountains and on to the West... Dec 22, 2009 - 10:16 AM - by Wiggy
|
MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA - NASCAR racing is taking a historic step into Oklahoma in 2010, as Outlaw Motor Speedway, a 3/8th-mile clay oval near Muskogee, Okla., becomes the first track in The Sooner State to gain NASCAR sanction. The track becomes part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, NASCAR’s national championship program for weekly racers, and opens its season March 13.
“We’ve been in discussions with NASCAR for some time,” said Lynn Skinner, who operates the seven year old track with Danny Womack and facility manager Eric Shannon. “We’re proud to partner with NASCAR to be the first and only NASCAR-sanctioned track in the state. We are proactive in our promotion and this is another step to grow the track.”
“We are just like the Thunder (NBA) to Okalhoma City or the Drillers (AA Baseball) to Tulsa, we are now the same. To me we’re now a farm team of the New York Yankees as far as race tracks go,” Skinner said. “Every race car driver in... [Read More]

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (December 9, 2009) – With a banner 2009 season recently logged into the record books, Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters officials have already been hard at work on what will prove to be an even better 2010 season.

Kruseman and Bondio to Field Separate Entries for Chili Bowl |
|
Dec 10, 2009 - 1:52 PM - by Wiggy
|
Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (December 4, 2009) – It has ranked as one of the most successful owner-driver combinations in Chili Bowl history. Teamed for eleven of the past twelve editions of the prestigious event that takes place atop the QuikTrip Center's Tulsa Expo Raceway clay oval, the duo has come away with the coveted Golden Driller trophy on two occasions and recorded several other podium finishes.
But, when the 24th Annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals takes place on January 12-16, 2010, things will look a little different, as that team won't be intact any more.
For the first time since 2001 and just the second time since 1997, Ventura, California's Cory Kruseman won't be at the wheel of one of the unique Andy Bondio No. 47 entries.
Bondio, who earned the first of three Golden Drillers as a car owner when Lealand McSpadden won the Chili Bowl in 1991, will still field a pair of entries for this year's Chili Bowl. Cali shoe Garrett... [Read More]
