New sponsor RAM Clutches gives contingency awards this season to drivers in four IMCA divisions.
Top five finishers in each of the five IMCA Modified regions and both IMCA Sunoco Stock Car regions, as well as top five drivers in national Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMod standings all receive $50 product certificates.
A family-owned business founded in Canton, Ohio, in 1971, RAM Clutches set up shop in Columbia in 1983. Mike Norcia is the marketing manager, his brother Pat the general manager of production.
“We’ve followed IMCA for years and have had products such as couplers that have been popular with IMCA drivers for a long time,” Mike Norcia said. “The majority of what we make for IMCA use is stock rule clutches. We have tried to create products that fit within the rules for different divisions of race cars.”
“We’ve worked closely with race teams, particularly in drag racing, and helped bring success to dozens of teams at the national level,” he added.
Other RAM products with IMCA applications include fly wheels, hydraulic bearings and repair parts.
RAM dealers include Speedway Moors, Smiley’s Racing Products and Summit Racing Equipment.
To be eligible for any contingency award, drivers must display a RAM decal on their race car, and complete and return a sign-up form to the IMCA home office, along with a receipt or other proof of purchase of a RAM product within the last 18 months.
RAM certificates will be presented during the national awards banquet in November or mailed from the home office beginning the following week.
“The new RAM program is one we are excited to promote and fills a void in our marketplace,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “We’re excited to have them on board and encourage all of our racers to explore the RAM line of quality products.”
